It seems like multi-hyphenate spaces have always been a part of the urban landscape.
Whether it’s the gallery/clothing label/radio station Know Wave on the West Coast or the 7-year-old print shop/clothing label/event space LQQK Studio in Brooklyn, it seems that high rents and an abundance of talented folk have always combined to bring us spaces that are as necessary as they are indefinable.
Far from an underground secret, however, LQQK Studio, founded in 2011 by Alex Dondero, has been steadily building a reputation for itself both as a go-to for silkscreening, fashion samples, art prints and letter pressing for the likes of Tom Sachs, Theory and Richardson Mag and as a cultural tastemaker in its own right with their extremely-limited runs of t-shirts that sell out in days.
For their next hat trick, LQQK has teamed up with Vault by Vans to bestow on us a capsule collection including apparel, accessories and three sneakers kitted out in suede uppers with a distorted version of the iconic sidestripe in tan, black and multicolor. The collection will be available here, on Saturday April 21st at 2pm EST.
