A few seasons ago, we set out to build the best wear-it-every day denim around. Since then, we've redrawn and refined our fits and introduced new washes with the goal of making wardrobe staples our friends would want to wear every day. Turns out, they've really really loved them and most have even found a favorite fit to add to their regular rotation.
We invited our friends Sally, an artist and designer, and Sabine, an actress and model, to the studio to try on the collection in different sizes and washes back to back.
Your favorite high rise skinnies meet your favorite slouchy-comfy “Saturday” jeans. This is a flattering, fitted, high rise top-block with a relaxed straight leg. It's a jean that perfectly combines fit elements to make a wardrobe cornerstone.
Styling Tip: Keep it classic with a simple button-up tucked in to that silhouette sculpting rise. Pair the Cousin with flats: you can definitely pull it off and not look like an upside-down pear, thanks to the straight cut of the leg which elongates and balances proportions. Easy, and perfect.
Our fashion director has one pair of vintage jeans she particularly adores. The Pen is the spiritual reincarnation of of those just right jeans: mid-rise and a classic wide, cropped leg in non-stretch denim that gives it just the right amount of vintage feel.
Styling Tip: The Pen is our most versatile fit. Wear it true to size for a slim, form hugging fit. Size one or two sizes for a slouchier, oversized look. Wear it on neighborhood errands with sneakers and a T, and when you have to make a quick change to get to dinner on time, switch to heels, throw on a blazer and you're Emanuelle Alt. Done.
This wide leg mid-rise silhouette is universally flattering. As soon as Sally tried on the Reese in the studio, she said "I don't even know what I look like, but I just love everything about them." Well said, and we think you'll agree.
Styling Tip: We love the Reese with a low heel and a big earring, everything in-between is optional.
