S.N.S. Herning
Danish knitwear manufacturer S.N.S. Herning was established in 1931, and is named after the initials of its founder, Mr Søren Nielsen Skyt, and the town in Denmark where the family-owned firm is still based. The original design was born out of function rather than fashion, a fact which goes a long way in explaining why the sweaters look as good today as they did 80 years ago. All knitting takes place in Denmark by a team of just five men who are highly skilled in operating the machines, of which some are originals from the 1930s.
