This twenty-one-picture book that makes up "Temps Mort" required eight months to exchange 300 text and picture messages -- some followed by long periods of silence -- between inmate, Al and artist, Mouhamed Bourouissa. The original photos were taken by Al, incarcerated in a penitential center near Paris and sent to the artist to interpret and rework to recomposes these images notably by re-shooting them in silver film. This French collection is an examination of the deconstruction of the media's discourse on the projects symbolized by the broken-down resolution of the content.
